Three Knights Sign National Letters of Intent to Play Soccer at College
Level
Three
members of Centennial’s Varsity Soccer teams will be continuing their
soccer careers at the college level. Seniors Hannah Valerio, Brendan
Moore and Carlos McCrary signed National Letters of Intent on
February 3rd in a ceremony at the school.
Hannah Valerio, a four year varsity
player, has signed to play at Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, North
Carolina, a member of the South Atlantic Conference. Hannah is the
Knights' starting goalkeeper and also plays forward. She plans to play
goalkeeper at Mars Hill. Hannah was the Knight’s “2007 Rookie of the
Year” her freshman year. She plays her club soccer with Roswell "Santos"
Soccer Club. Hannah is member of the Honor Roll and plans to study
Sports Medicine at Mars Hill College.
Brendan Moore, also a four year
varsity player, has signed to play at the University of North Carolina,
Chapel Hill in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Brendan is the Knight’s
2010 co-captain and has been the starting goalkeeper since 2008. He
plays club soccer with the Concorde Fire ’91 team in the US Soccer
Development Academy. He is a member of the 2009 Disney/Chelsea All-Star
team and started on the ODP ’92 Region III team from 2005 to 2007. He
has played internationally in Spain and England. Brendan plans to major
in business at UNC.
Carlos McCrary
has also signed with the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in
the Atlantic Coast Conference. Carlos attended South Cobb High School
his first three years and was a varsity player for all three, leading
the team in goals scored in 2009. He came to Centennial in fall of 2009
and is now the Knight’s starting forward. Carlos plays club soccer with
Concorde Fire ’91 team in the US Soccer Development Academy and leads
the Academy in goals scored for the 2009-2010 season. Carlos has been on
the Honor Roll since freshman year. He is undecided on his major at UNC.
